Hansi Hinterseer

Schlager greetings from the Tyrolean mountains

Anyone who knows Hansi Hinterseer, the man behind the star, can hear the stories of an eventful life resonating through his music. Life has set the Bergbauernbuam on a challenging course with highs and lows, which the Tyrolean has managed to cross with dancing ease despite many a challenge – with gratitude and satisfaction.

Hansi Hinterseer and his musical understanding of pop hits as well as folk songs and traditional songs inspire a growing and cross-genre following. Of course, the catchy lines come naturally to the Tyrolean.

You can believe the way he sings these songs. At peace with himself, this man stands by all his rough edges, is part of the eternal mountains, the mighty massifs of his homeland. The sensitive, positive lyrics and melodies provide an insight into peaceful nature and relaxing worlds. His new songs, the lovingly staged music videos and the comprehensive film documentary by internationally award-winning filmmaker Hannes Schalle magically connect the past, present and future.

Anyone who doesn’t know the charming Tyrolean from skiing may know him as a singer or presenter. For almost three decades, Hansi Hinterseer has been the musical ambassador of Tyrol. He has received gold and platinum awards, the ECHO and even the badge of honor of his home country. His popularity is also known and appreciated in Japan, Australia, Texas, Namibia, Canada, USA, Dubai and the Bahamas. With his last two albums “Weihnachten miteinander” (2020) and “Ich halt zu dir” (2021) he landed further Top5 successes in the album charts. With his album “Weil es dich gibt” Hansi Hinterseer reached #4 in the Official German Album Charts and #1 in the Official German Top 20 Schlager Charts. In his home country Austria, the former ski champion reached directly No. 3 in the charts and even jumped to No. 2 in the Top 100 in Switzerland. 2024 holds three anniversaries in store for the popular Tyrolean.

His career in ski racing began over 50 years ago and really took off. In 1973, just 18 years old at the time, he raced to the top of the world for the first time with an overall World Cup victory in the giant slalom, followed by a spectacular home slalom victory in 1974 as the first Austrian at the World Cup race on the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbühel and a World Championship silver medal in the giant slalom just one week later. Six World Cup victories in the slalom, 9 x 2nd place and 7 x 3rd place in the slalom World Cup as well as two professional world championship titles in the downhill round off his sporting record. “These are wonderful memories. You like to look back, but life is now! Now you have to live, look ahead.
